FOR THE BLACK HILLS, THE EARTH & ALL HER PEOPLE

THE UNITY CONCERT | SOUTH DAKOTA

“Today the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples gives us the modern tools to stand up and declare our rights. We have come back to the table on the basis of what is recognized for Indigenous Peoples’ rights and on the basis of what sacredness is.” – Leonard Little Finger (Lakota Elder)

Dear Relatives, community and Earth family,

And as you read, let your devotion and fire light up the possibilities that will come as we empower the youth in this next step!!!! They still need $7000 to land everything in the most powerful way!!! You can help by giving what you can by using the donation button!! Remember your action supports this prayer for Unity amongst all nations, as we stand up together to give voice for Sacred Sites globally!!! This is a time like never before when prayer propelled by devoted action is a necessity!! Please share this good news across your networks and social media contacts.

Greetings! We are excited to invite you to join us at the Black Hills Unity Concert’s 2018 Unity at LNI event! The Black Hills Unity Concert is a 501(c)3 hosted, non-profit and free event open to the public. Unity at LNI focuses specifically on creating a program centered around Indigenous Youth which is designed to inspire hope and pride in themselves and culture.
The Setting: Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Rapid CIty, South Dakota

Black Hills Unity Concert
The Unity Concert was founded in 2014 as a way to raise awareness of the Black Hills issue and violations of the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty. Alongside the Paha Sapa Unity Alliance, we are here to remind everyone the Black Hills are NOT for sale and to take a stand, protect the sacred!

Lakota Nation Invitational
LNI originated after the occupation at Wounded Knee in 1973 as a place where Native youth could gather for games and healthy competition. Facing racial discrimination and marginalization, Lakota leaders wanted a platform to foster connections between youth and LNI was born. Now in its 42nd year, LNI historically consists of several events including: tournaments in basketball, wrestling, cheerleading, Hand Games, art, Knowledge Bowl and competitions in Lakota Language, storytelling and business as well as a student/youth art show. Our goal by introducing the Unity Concert to the program is to bring a musical and performance aspect to enhance the overall event.

With a combined Internet reach of nearly 100,000 followers and averaging 4,000 plus attendees per event day, Unity@LNI is the largest gathering of its kind to our knowledge. We hope you are able to join us in our debut year with LNI Thursday, December 13th, 2018.

Thank you so much for your consideration! We look forward to working with you!
